How to create reporting attributes on any Financial Dimension.

  1. Go to Maintenance → Hierarchy → Hierarchy Management.

  2. Type: choose Finance Hierarchies.

  3. Dimension: pick the target dimension.

  4. Click Setup.

  5. In Finance Hierarchies Setup, confirm the dimension.

  6. From More, choose Attribute Setup.

  7. Click Add.

  8. In Add Attribute, enter Name (optional Description).

  9. Choose the Attribute Type (e.g., Text, Date, Month, Year, List, Float, Integer).

  10. Save.

  11. Verify the attribute appears in the Properties area of leaf members for that dimension.

Manually Populate Attributes in Hierarchy Management

After creating attributes, populate them on leaf members.

  1. Go to Maintenance → Hierarchy → Hierarchy Management.

  2. Type: Finance Hierarchies.

  3. Dimension: pick the dimension where you created the attribute.

  4. Click Show.

  5. Click Edit Hierarchy to enable edits.

  6. Navigate to a leaf member.

  7. In Properties → User Defined Attributes, locate your attribute.

  8. Enter the attribute value(s).

  9. Click OK.

  10. Click Save.

Populate Attributes via a Data Load Rule

Use DLR to mass‑populate attribute values.

  1. Go to Maintenance → Hierarchy → Hierarchy Management.

  2. Navigate to the dimension where the attribute exists.

  3. From More, select Export Leaf Level.

  4. In the exported file, populate the attribute columns.

  5. Save the file.

  6. Go to Maintenance → DLR → Data Load Rules.

  7. From the Data Load Rules list, pick the rule for that dimension.

  8. On Define Overall Rule Settings, confirm the User‑defined Attribute appears under Defaults → Parameters.

  9. Step through the remaining DLR tabs to Load Data.

  10. Load Data.

  11. Return to Maintenance → Hierarchy → Hierarchy Management.

  12. Select the dimension again.

  13. Open a leaf member’s Properties → User Defined Attributes.

  14. Verify the attribute populated correctly.

Mapping Attributes to the Reporting Cube

Purpose: map Basic and Property attributes to the reporting cube.

  1. Go to Maintenance → Reports → Cube Settings.

  2. Open the Attribute Settings tab.

  3. In Reporting Area, select Financial Attributes.

  4. In the list, choose the attribute to map.

  5. Click Add (toolbar).

  6. Browse the Select Attributes list and select the attribute(s).

  7. Click Add Selected.

  8. Set the attribute Type (Basic or Property).

  9. Save.

How to Access Attributes in Reports and Report Sets

Access Property Attributes in a Report

Notes: Property attributes are available only in Dynamic Reports, and can be placed only on rows or columns (not on Page).

  1. Go to Reports and start a Dynamic Report.

  2. Select the Reporting Area.

  3. Drag the Dimension (that the Property attribute is mapped to) onto Row or Column.

  4. Click the Dimension to display its hierarchy.

  5. Open the Properties tab.

  6. Select the desired Property attribute.

  7. Build the remainder of the report as needed.

Access Basic Attributes in a Report

Basic attributes can be used in reports and report sets, and may be placed on Page, Row, or Column.

  1. In Reports, start a Dynamic Report.

  2. Select the Reporting Area.

  3. In Dimensions, select the dimension mapped to the Basic attribute, then click the radial arrow to reveal the attributes under that dimension.

  4. Drag the Basic attribute to Page, Row, or Column.

  5. Select the attribute to display all leaf‑level attribute members.

  6. Under Members, pick the attribute members to include.

  7. Finish building the report.

Access Basic Attributes in a Report Set

You can use Basic attributes within Report Sets (Static). They behave like other dimensions in the Rule Box. You can also populate lines via Single Dimension.

Create a report set and use attributes in rules:

  1. In Reports, choose Report Set.

  2. Select Static.

  3. Enter a Code (Name is optional).

  4. Select the Reporting Area.

  5. From the Dimension dropdown, choose the Basic attribute.

  6. Add lines to the report set; in the Rule Box, select members as Single, Multiple, or Advanced (all supported).

  7. Complete and Save the report set.

Alternate: Add lines via Single Dimension:


8. From the report set toolbar More → Add Lines & Rules → Single Dimension.
9. Expand the Attribute hierarchy.
10. Select at least one member.
11. (Optional) Use Options to populate the report set with your selected members.
12. Click Add.
13. Format as desired and Save.
