Unprotected View in Microsoft Excel refers to a view in which Excel files open directly in editing mode. By default, files downloaded from the internet open in Protected View to prevent potentially malicious content from running. Removing this default setting allows you to edit exported Dynamic Reports without manually clicking the Enable Editing button.
To always open Dynamic Reports in Unprotected View, do the following:
Open a Blank workbook in Microsoft Excel.
Select File, and then select Options.
From the left pane, select Trust Center.
Click Trust Center Settings.
From the left pane of the Trust Center window, select Protected View.
Clear the checkboxes for Enable Protected View for files originating from the Internet and Enable Protected View for files located in potentially unsafe locations.
Click OK. Exported Dynamic Reports now open in Unprotected View.
