How to Assign a Navigation Access to a Navigation Role?

Prev Next

Admin users assign Navigation Access to specific Navigation Roles to control which features users can access in the application. Users can see and access only the navigation options that are selected (checked) for their assigned role. If the admin doesn't select a navigation option, users won't be able to view or access it. To assign the Navigation Access, follow the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Maintenance > Administration > User & Role Management > Navigation Role.

  2. Select the specific Navigation Role to which you want to assign Navigation Access and click Navigation Access.

  3. Use the hierarchy structure to expand and collapse navigation options. Click the checkbox next to the navigation option to allow access to the path.

  4. Click Save.

    Note:

You can select different Navigation Role from the drop-down list, and assign Navigation Access.

FAQ

What does each Navigation Role allow a user to see?

Navigation Roles are defined and configured by administrators of their respective organization, so there is no predefined list of what each Navigation Role (such as Admin, Budget Administrator, Budget Preparer, Reporting Administrator, or Super Admin) can access.

Each organization determines which pages, modules, and features are enabled for each role.

To view the exact access for any Navigation Role in your environment:

  1. Go to Maintenance > Administration > User & Role Management.

  2. Go to the Navigation Role tab.

  3. Select the Navigation Role you want to review.

  4. Click Navigation Access to view all assigned navigation paths.
