How to Build a Revenue Dashboard Over Time?

To build a dynamic revenue dashboard, do the following:

  1. Navigate to Dashboards.

  2. Click Add. The dashboard designer page appears.

  3. Enter a name for your dashboard.

  4. From the Objects tab in the right panel, drag and drop a Line Chart onto the gray canvas.

  5. Click ADD to add a dimension on the X-axis, and then select the Time dimension to show revenue across periods.

  6. Click ADD to add a dimension on the Y-axis, select the Account dimension, and then choose the appropriate revenue account such as Total Revenue or Net Sales.

  7. Enter required names in the chart title and subtitle fields.

  8. (Optional Step) Click ADD in Filter Dimensions to add one or more dashboard-level filters such as Region, Scenario, or Product Line to narrow the view. The selected filters appear in the dropdown and update the dashboard view accordingly.

  9. Click the Apply Changes icon to save the chart to the dashboard.

  10. If the chart does not display data, verify that data is available for the selected dimensions on X or Y axis and for the filter dimensions.

  11. Click Save to save the dashboard.
