Article summary

Users should start by transferring the metadata/data from Structured Planning into the HACPM_Financial model. Next, move the data from HACPM_Financial to the target model. After these transfers, run the following calculations: Metadata Download, Data Download, Mapping, and Aggregation. Before proceeding, ensure that the model is already created. See How to create a model.

To map the data from the HACPM_Financial model to your working model, follow these steps:

  1. In SpotlightXL, select Model > Map. Here you will specify which members of the Source will be copied to the Target/Master model.
    1. In the Target Model field, select the name of your Master/Target model.
    2. In the Name field, type in a name for this map.
    3. In the Type field, select Both.
    4. In the Source Model field, select HACPM_Financial.
    5. In the Transfer field, select Leaf.
    6. In the Source to Target Map table, the dimensions are automatically populated upon selecting the source model. Update the filters and values as needed. For more information, refer to How to Create a Map. Omit AttributeHierarchy and Attribute (and optionally BudgetEntity) from the list.
  2. Click Save.

Next, create a calculation that will download the data into the HACPM_Financial model and copy the necessary metadata/data into your target model:

  1. In SpotlightXL, select Model > Calculation to create a calculation that will download the data into the HACPM_Financial model.
    1. In the Model field, select the Master/Target model from the drop-down list.
    2. In the Name field, give the Calculation a name.
    3. In the Run in Background field, select Yes.
    4. In the Success Notification and Failure Notification fields, enter your email address.
    5. Under Type, select:
      1. Metadata Download
      2. Download Data
      3. Map
      4. Aggregation
    6. Under Name, select the desired option.
    7. Click Save.
    8. Click Run. Click Refresh occasionally until the download is 100% complete and see the Last Run Status field.
