To lock a model and prevent modification or data clearing, follow these steps:
Locking a Model from SpotlightXL:
- In SpotlightXL, navigate to Model > Setup.
- Select a model that is in a Generated state.
- Click Lock Model (enabled only for Generated models).
The model status changes from Generated to Locked, and the Lock Model icon switches to Unlock Model.
When a model is locked, it ensures data integrity by preventing data clearing. However, this also means that saving or updating data from Views, Reports, Data Load, API Library, and Calculations may be restricted. See: Saving Report Data to Locked Models and Saving View Data to Locked Models
Locking a Model from Spotlight Web:
- In Spotlight Web, navigate to Dynamic Planning > Model.
- Click the three dots in the upper right-hand corner for the desired model.
- Select Lock Model.
