Article summary

If you want to unmap an existing template with default time set and use a custom time set, in order to change the time period configuration in planning, it is important to be aware of the following:

  • The new time set template will not have any sublines defined in the source as it is a newly created template. You must manually input Subline data as needed.

  • When you map the new time set based template to the working scenario, there will be a Varying Scenario and Period Selections (Change by Period) data seed option in the Add Scenario > Data Seeding page, which will display aggregated data for the scenario based on account mapping when multiple history lines exist or when the same account combination is planned from multiple sources. To work around this functionality:

    1. Delete all history mapping lines from the template with default time set to eliminate the possibility of input for the same accounts from multiple sources (including data loads in non-shared mode).

    2. Map the templates to the working scenario.

    3. Run the Simulation process for the newly mapped template with the custom time set.

    4. Re-map the history lines as needed. Post data from other sources (i.e data load rules) if required.

    5. Run the Simulation process again for the new template and any dependent templates.
