Article summary

Column Sets are Report Sets that are used on the Column axis of a dynamic report. In the below example, the New ActvBud DrillCol column set is used on the Column axis of the dynamic report.

Income Statement report using the “New ActvBud DrillCol Set” with MTD/YTD actuals, plans, and red-highlighted negative variances.

Opening the New ActvBud DrillCol column set displays seven rows. Rows 10, 11, 13, and 14 reference multiple members from the Measure (Month to Date [MTD] and Year to Date [YTD]) and Scenario (Actual and Plan) dimensions. These rows fetch and show a comparison between the Measure and Scenario dimensions, based on the time selected in the dynamic report. If the selected month on the Page axis is May-19, then this report set shows an MTD comparison between Actual and Plan, with Variance showing the difference. Similarly, it also shows a YTD comparison for the Year 2019 between Actual and Plan, with Variance showing the difference.

The rule for Row 10 in the column set contains the Measures-MTD and Scenario Actual as Selected Members. Further, the Rule field contains the value MTD|$|Actual, which indicates that this rule shows actual data only for the selected month in the reporting currency.

Edit Rule setup shows MTD Actual column with Measures mapped to MTD and Scenario to Actual, using rule format "MTD|$|Actual".
