Manage Access Token

To automate the integration of your data with Dynamic Planning, create an access token that can be used by the Dynamic Planning APIs to load, clear, and calculate data as well as load and clear metadata. Access tokens are used in maps to move data across models that reside in different Dynamic Planning applications.

Tip
An advantage to using access tokens is that they do not require usernames and passwords.

The access token works as an authentication mechanism. It enables data connectors (like Dell Boomi) to integrate external data with Dynamic Planning. Access tokens are user specific. You can create, remove, or display a user’s access token. Access tokens do not expire.

How to Generate an Access Token?

  1. In SpotlightXL, select the Manage task and the Token Management > Manage Access Token subtask.
  2. Select a User from the list box.
  3. Click Generate and a token is provided in the Access Key field as shown below.

Once you generate an access token for a user, the Generate action is replaced with the Remove action shown below.

Because access tokens are encrypted, you can give your token a more common and easy to remember name.
