Leverage checkboxes to manage campaigns and expense groups on the manage page table view - move, duplicate, delete, or set status
As someone with write access to a budget, you can update individual campaigns and expense groups from the "kebab menu" (the three vertical dots to the right of the name).
But sometimes you need to update multiple campaigns or expense groups at once. This is where the checkboxes and the Actions menu comes into play.
How to use the Actions Menu:
In order to select the multiple campaigns or expense groups you wish to update, simply click the checkboxes next to each one
You also have the option to check off all the campaigns you are currently filtered for
Lastly, you can bulk select campaigns by segment, goal, and parent campaign depending on how the view you are using
After selecting the necessary campaigns, simply open the Actions menu to see the available updates you can make
Actions Menu Options
Below are the ways you can update campaigns and expense groups using the Actions menu:
Duplicate
The duplicate option allows you to duplicate a singular campaign or expense group. The resulting duplicate will be an exact copy of your selection with its name preceded by "Copy".
Move to
The "move to" option allows you to easily change the parent location of campaigns or expense groups.
There are different options for ways to move your campaigns and expense groups depending on the view you are utilizing in the Manage page. Viewing by segment will allow you to move them across different segments, by goal will allow you to move them across different goals, and by campaign will allow you to move them across different campaigns.
It is important to note that you will not be able to move parent campaigns (meaning they have child campaigns or expense groups) into other campaigns. This is because the hierarchy in Plannuh only allows one level of parent campaign.
Close
The close option allows you to completely close your campaigns. Closing campaigns will do a few things to the campaign and its underlying expenses and allocated budget. First, it will close out the remaining months of any underlying expenses at their actual amount. This means that any expenses in the campaign with committed values will close at those values once the campaign is closed. Second, it will lock any budget that you had allocated to that campaign and mark the campaign as over budget or under budget depending on whether or not the underlying closed expenses exceed the campaign's allocated budget.
Campaigns that have been closed can always be restarted, so there is no need to worry about making permanent changes.
Change Type
The "change type" option allows you to change the type of one or more of your campaigns or expense groups. Selecting this option will provide you a dropdown of all of the available types in your account. Keep in mind that campaign types and expense group types are separate from one another, meaning to change in bulk you must be selecting either all campaigns or all expense groups and not a combination of the two.
Add Tags
The "add tags" option allows you to add tags in bulk. Selecting this option will prompt a box where you can type in any tag you would like to apply to the underlying campaigns and expense groups. After each tag you type, press enter on your keyboard to add the tag to the list, and then save to add those tags to the items you selected.
Remove Tags
The "remove tags" option will allow you to remove tags in bulk. Selecting this option will prompt a box that will list all of the tags corresponding with the underlying campaigns or expense groups where you can simply click the "x" next to each tag to remove them.
Delete
The delete option will allow you to delete your campaigns and expense groups in bulk.
Export
The export option is a little bit different from the others here. Rather than it being based on which items from the list you check off, the export option will only appear when you open the actions menu with nothing selected. This option allows you to export the Manage page into a spreadsheet with tabs for both the allocation and spending view. The format of the export will slightly change to accommodate the view you are in, whether it is by segment, goal, or campaign.
