Plannuh is excited to announce our Facebook Ads integration and other updates to simplify the management of your Operational Marketing Plan with greater visibility and agility for optimization. 

New features in this release include:

  • Segment budget visibility
  • Facebook Ads integration

Below is additional detail to get you started.

Manage Page: Increasing Visibility of Segment Budgets

Our new update to the manage page enables you to view the segment level of your marketing plan with more detail in one view. See the video tour below:

When viewing your budget by segment on the manage page, you will now have a breakdown of the budget segment in 3 rows (Figure 1). 

  • The top row is the budget allocated to the segment (Figure 1a) 
  • The middle row is the budget allocated to campaigns and expense groups within the segment. (Figure 1b)
  • The bottom row is what we affectionately call “Unallocated”, which is the remaining budget that has not been attributed to campaigns or expense groups in the segment. (Figure 1c)

 You can view the expenses for each row with the Expenses toggle:

  • Top row - total expenses within the segment budget 
  • Middle row - total expenses associated with segment’s campaigns and expense groups 
  • Bottom row - expenses that are assigned to the segment with no “parent”

Toggling on the Formula displays the calculations which determine the “unallocated” amount in each segment: Segment - (Campaigns and Expense Groups) = Unallocated. 

You can use the new Undo button (Figure 2) to undo your most recent updates to budgeted amounts and changes to hierarchy.  Please note that deletion and changing segments cannot be undone, but the confirmation dialogs will remind you of this.

It is important to know: 

  • A green or [red] number may appear above the Campaigns and Expense Group row and/or Unallocated row. This number is important because it shows the total amount of available or overspent budget within the segment (Figure 1d).
  • Spending mode provides a more detailed breakdown of spend status and available funds.

Facebook Ads Integration

You can now integrate your Facebook campaign data directly into Plannuh for tracking cost and metrics, for visibility into both planned and actual ROI. See video below for details:

  • Configuration takes seconds. Once your Facebook campaigns are created (automatically) in Plannuh, you can easily associate campaigns with segments, goals, or other campaigns using drag & drop or by selecting campaigns and using the Action button. 
  • This integration enables you to automatically track your allocation amounts and spend for each campaign against the rest of your budget for real-time actionable insights.

It is important to know: 

  • Campaigns imported from Facebook will not have a known budget segment in Plannuh and will initially have a “Default Segment”. The imported campaigns will need to be assigned a budget segment to properly represent the cost and allocation values in the context of your plan. 
  • You can use our widget on the home screen to quickly assign segments to campaigns individually or in bulk.

Facebook Campaign Details

The Facebook integration enables you to automatically update metric data for impressions, clicks, conversions, and reach in Plannuh. Plannuh indicates the data synced from Facebook with appropriate designations for campaign type, metric source, and expense type. 

  •  Allocation amounts for Facebook campaigns in the future are calculated in Plannuh by multiplying the daily spend limit for a Facebook Ad campaign by the number of days in that particular month. The actual spend (and metric value) comes directly from the Facebook integration every day for up-to-date insight into your campaign performance.
  • In Plannuh, you’ve already selected whether to track your budget monthly or quarterly. Facebook expenses are easily identifiable as they’re named after the associated campaign name plus the month/quarter they’re tracking. (Example: “Facebook Blast - June”, or “Facebook Blast - Q2”) 

At the end of the month/quarter active expenses will close with the total expense amount as charged by Facebook. Once closed, a new expense will be created for the following time frame automatically. (Continued Example: “Facebook Blast - July”, or “Facebook Blast - Q3”)
