You can use the Attributes & Tags page to seamlessly manage all entities such as Campaign/Expense Group Type, Expense Types, Vendors, GL Codes, and Tags within the Planful for Marketing application in one place.

Previously, Campaign and Expense Group Types were available as separate entities and could be created or deleted only by the Planful support team. You could not make any changes on your own, causing inconvenience. In addition, when campaign and expense group types had the same names, the Planful support team had to duplicate entries, once in campaign types and again in expense group types. Also, to stop using any campaign or expense group type, there was no option to deactivate them. The Planful support team had to delete these campaigns or expense group types.

Campaign/Expense Group Types

You can use the new Campaign/Expense Group Types tab on the Attributes & Tags page to perform multiple actions as a single entity. You can now perform all actions, such as create, update, delete, etc, on your own without needing any help from the Planful support team. In addition, you can activate or deactivate any campaign/expense group type instead of deleting it, providing the flexibility to reuse them whenever needed. Furthermore, you can now view the count of instances where these types are being used, allowing you to track all campaign/expense group types in one place.

These key features allow you to organize Campaign/Expense Group Types within the application, enhancing organizational requirements and streamlining workflow processes.

Let's understand the new feature with an example:

Within the Planful for Marketing application, you run a marketing campaign for a new product launch. You can create a Campaign/Expense Group Type named Product Launch to categorize all expenses and campaigns related to this initiative. As the campaign progresses, you want to update the Product Launch type or add additional attributes for clarity. Previously, creating this kind of campaign and expense group type required contacting the support team for duplication in both places, which was inconvenient and redundant.

However, with this enhancement, you can now create Campaign/Expense Group Types on your own in the application without needing help from the support team. Once the Product Launch type becomes obsolete over time, you can deactivate it without deleting it, allowing for reuse. If you want to delete it, it will be assigned to the Other type to preserve historical data. Utilizing the count feature, you gain insights into the frequency of usage for the Product Launch type, aiding in assessing its success and impact. Through efficient management and tracking within the application, you ensure smooth workflow processes and accurate financial management throughout the product launch campaign.

Including Campaign/Expense Group Types on the Attributes & Tags page has transformed it into a unified interface. You can now conveniently perform various actions on GL Codes, Vendors, Tags, Expense Types, and Campaign/Expense Group Types, all within a single interface.

Planful for Marketing: New Delete functionality for Expense Types

With this release, the delete functionality for Expense Types has been changed to provide a more streamlined and efficient experience. Previously, when attempting to delete an Expense Types, you were required to delete it from each instance where it had been used, which could be time-consuming.

Now, with the latest enhancement, you can directly delete any Expense Types without navigating through multiple instances. Upon deletion, the Expense Types is automatically replaced by an Other type, a system-defined type that cannot be deleted. This simplifies the deletion process and ensures you can efficiently manage your Expense Types without worrying about the impact on existing data.

For example, let’s consider Richard, a marketing manager who frequently deals with various Expense Types in his day-to-day activities. Previously, if Richard wanted to delete an Expense Types that had been used in numerous instances, he would have to remove it from each instance individually.

However, with this enhancement, Richard can now delete any Expense Types directly, regardless of the number of instances in which it has been utilized. The system automatically reassigns the Expense Types to the Other type, allowing Richard to focus on more critical tasks without worrying about manual deletion processes.
