# Goal Types

## Overview

The Goal Types tab on the Attributes & Tags page offers comprehensive functionalities, enabling you to manage various actions efficiently. You can create, update, delete, and perform other tasks seamlessly.

The Goal Types section comprises the following essential columns:

### Goal Type

This section allows you to access the list of existing Goal Types.

### Enable/Disable

You can toggle this option to activate or deactivate Goal Types based on their current relevance or usage status. This feature allows you to temporarily suspend types without permanent deletion, facilitating easy reactivation when necessary.

### Count

You can use Count to get insights into the usage frequency of each Goal Type. By tracking the number of instances where each type is utilized, you can better understand their importance and relevance within the application.

**In Practice: Adding a New Goal Type**

1. Navigate to **Settings > Attributes & Tags** and click **Goal Types**.

2. Click **+Create New**.

A new row appears at the top to enter a new goal type.
3. Enter a name and click outside the field to save the new entry.

Note:

The name field supports a maximum of 140 characters.
4. Additionally, click on an existing name field to update it. Save changes by clicking outside the field.  
A toast message displays, indicating that the update was successful.  
Notes:

  - The **+Create New** button is disabled until you provide a name for the new type.
  - Only one new entry is allowed at a time.
  - The new entry is **Enabled** by default.

**In Practice: Activating/Deactivating Goal Types**

1. Navigate to **Settings > Attributes & Tags** and click **Goal Types**.

2. Toggle the switch to activate or deactivate the required **Goal Type**.  
Notes:

  - The deactivated goal type cannot be added to a new Goal, but it remains visible in existing goals where it is already in use.

  - Disabled Goal Types appear in the filter with **Disabled** appended at the end.

**In Practice: Searching Goal Types**

1. Navigate to **Settings > Attributes & Tags** and click **Goal Types**.

2. Enter the required keyword in the **Search Goal Types** field to find matching types.

The search results display all entries containing the matching word or phrase.

**In Practice: Deleting Goal Types**

1. Navigate to **Settings > Attributes & Tags** and click **Goal Types**.

2. Hover over an existing row; the delete option appears at the end of the row.
3. Click the **Delete** icon.

Instances of the deleted goal type are replaced with the type **Other**, which is visible at the bottom of the table but cannot be edited.

Notes:

  - The **Other** type is a system-defined goal type.
  - The **Other** category cannot be disabled or deleted from the application.
  - The **Other** category is available in all filters/drop-down sections.

**In Practice: Bulk Deleting Goal Types**

1. Navigate to **Settings > Attributes & Tags**, and then select **Goal Types**.
2. Select the checkbox next to the **Goal Type** column header. All checkboxes are selected.
3. Click **Delete**. A confirmation dialog appears.

4. Click **Delete** to confirm. All goal types are deleted successfully. Furthermore, in the drawer screen, any existing values are replaced with the Other goal type.

Notes:

- The **Other** type is a system-defined goal type.

**In Practice: Sorting Goal Types**

1. Navigate to **Settings > Attributes & Tags** and click **Goal Types**.

2. Click the **Goal Type** column to sort the column alphabetically, ascending or descending.

3. Click the **Enabled/Disabled** column to sort all types by enabled state, followed by disabled, and vice versa.

4. Click the **Count** column to sort based on count, ascending or descending.

**In Practice: Viewing the Count of Goal Types**

1. Navigate to **Settings > Attributes & Tags** and click **Goal Types**.

2. View the **Count** column to see the instances where each goal type is used.
