# Introduction to Import

### Quickly Load Multiple Elements of the Budget in Bulk

The import feature is accessible from **Create > Import / Export Data**. This functionality allows you to add budget items using an XLSX format, providing a convenient way to update your budget. The available import options will depend on your user permissions. Read-write users can import the following items:

- Campaigns
- Expense Groups
- Expenses
- Metrics

Admin users have additional options, particularly useful during the initial budget setup:

- **Campaign Types**
- **Expense Group Types**
- **Expense Types**
- **GL Codes**

To begin the import process, the first step is to export the budget as an XLSX file. Go to the **Export** section, and select **BUDGET >** **Export Budget as XLSX**. This exported template ensures validation as you add items for import.

The exported spreadsheet contains various tabs, some for reference (e.g., Budget tab) and others for validation (e.g., Budget Segments and Goals) - some of which are hidden by default:
