Below are some frequently asked questions and answers about the integration between Planful for Marketing and LinkedIn Ads:
Question: What data is pulled from the Planful for Marketing to LinkedIn Ads integration?
Answer: The integration pulls data from LinkedIn campaign groups. If you have a campaign group on LinkedIn with nested campaigns, they will be aggregated as a campaign in Planful for Marketing. The following metrics are pulled from LinkedIn campaign groups: Clicks, Conversions, Impressions, and Leads. Additionally, the integration captures the start and end dates of the campaign group and calculates the allocated budget based on the daily budget set for each campaign on LinkedIn.
Question: What happens when I delete a Planful for Marketing campaign created via the LinkedIn Ads integration?
Answer: Deleting a LinkedIn Ad integrated campaign in Planful for Marketing permanently removes it from your account. However, the expenses incurred through the LinkedIn campaign will not be deleted and can be deleted separately on the expense page.
Question: How can I identify LinkedIn campaigns in Planful for Marketing?
Answer: There are a few ways to identify LinkedIn campaigns in Planful for Marketing. On the "Manage Campaigns" page in the "Classic View," a small LinkedIn icon is displayed next to each campaign generated through the integration.
Additionally, when viewing the details of a campaign, the Campaign Type is set to LinkedIn Ads and cannot be changed.
Question: Can I change the name of a campaign generated via the LinkedIn Ads integration?
Answer: No, the name of a campaign generated through the LinkedIn Ads integration in Planful for Marketing cannot be changed. To modify the name, you need to change the name of the campaign group in LinkedIn Ads.
Question: Why is the LinkedIn Ads Integration not available in my Planful for Marketing account settings?
Answer: If you have purchased the LinkedIn Ads integration but cannot find the option to add it to your account settings, please contact your Planful for Marketing Customer Success Manager (CSM) to enable this capability for you.
Question: What is the "Cost Adjustment Planful for Marketing Expense Group" generated via LinkedIn?
Answer: The "Cost Adjustment Expense Group" is used to account for rebates or taxes charged through ad platforms. These costs or credits are typically independent of campaigns or campaign groups.
Question: Can I use the Planful for Marketing - LinkedIn Ads integration solely for managing expenses?
Answer: Yes, you can. If you prefer to manage only expenses and not campaigns or metrics, you can delete the campaigns generated through the LinkedIn Ads integration. This will not delete the associated expenses, and the integration will continue to update these expenses on a daily basis.
Question: Why do some LinkedIn expenses appear in blue instead of black on the dashboard?
Answer: The integration syncs LinkedIn Ads expenses to Planful for Marketing on a daily basis. In the current month, expenses incurred through LinkedIn Ads appear in blue as "committed." Once the month ends, these expenses appear in black, indicating they are "closed," and the charged/invoiced amount is reflected.
Question: I see more or fewer campaigns in Planful for Marketing after integrating with LinkedIn Ads. Why is this?
Answer: There could be several reasons for this discrepancy:
- If a LinkedIn campaign is "Paused" or "Removed," it will not be generated in Planful for Marketing during the initial integration.
- Stand-alone campaigns on LinkedIn without a campaign group will not be created in Planful for Marketing. All campaigns generated through the LinkedIn Ads integration are created via the campaign group.
- Refreshing your LinkedIn Ads authentication token may be necessary. You can do this by going to the settings wheel, selecting "LinkedIn Ads Settings," and clicking on the LinkedIn icon to refresh the authentication.
Question: If I change the allocated budget of a campaign generated via the LinkedIn Ads integration in Planful for Marketing, will it affect the daily spending limit in LinkedIn?
Answer: No. If you overwrite the allocated budget in the campaign generated from the integration, the new budget in Planful for Marketing will not impact the daily spending limit in LinkedIn for the individual campaigns within the campaign group. The updated budget in Planful for Marketing will be permanently overwritten and can only be edited within Planful for Marketing. If you would like to explore the advantages of modifying the campaign budget in Planful for Marketing while keeping the current pace of your LinkedIn campaign's daily spending limits, please contact your dedicated Planful for Marketing CSM.
