Overview
On the Manage page, select the most suitable method for organizing your plan. Regardless of whether you oversee a single campaign or an entire budget segment, the Manage page offers a view that assists you in comprehending and modifying allocations, spending, and performance.
The Manage page serves as a platform for viewing and editing your complete marketing plan. The view selector allows you to select how you prefer to perceive your plan: organized by Segment, Goal, or Campaign.
Organize by Segment
The Manage page provides a comprehensive overview when you view your expenses by segment. This helps you to get a quick glance at your entire budget, expenditure details, and available budget at a macro level.
Segment Rows
Each row in the table view of the Manage page represents a segment you created on the Budget page. Segments can only be added or deleted on the Budget page. The leftmost column contains the segment rows, which can be expanded to reveal the complete hierarchy within each segment.
Each segment row is further divided into three additional rows, which provide relevant data over time: Segment, Campaigns & Expense Groups, and Unallocated. These rows, along with the Budget and Expenses columns for each timeframe in the table, label the data within each cell. The combination of the row and column labels the data.
The same principle applies to the expense column for each timeframe (which can be toggled on and off). By working with the segment rows, you can observe the total cost of all the expenses within your segment, as well as the costs associated solely with campaigns and expense groups within the segment. Additionally, you can see the total cost of Unallocated expenses, which refers to expenses assigned to a segment but not allocated to any specific campaign or expense group.
For a quick and contextual understanding of how these rows relate to each other, you can enable the Formula toggle, which displays the calculation for arriving at the Unallocated amounts.
Editable Budgets
Admins have the ability to edit the Segment Budget cell. Initially, these amounts are set on the Budget page, but once entered, they can be updated on the Manage page. This allows you to modify segment budgets within the context of your overall plan and the costs you have already incurred.
Smart Cells
In the Smart Cells section, there are additional figures displayed in green above the Campaign & Expense Groups and Unallocated rows. These figures represent the Remaining Allocated and Available amounts, respectively. To clarify, these numbers indicate the difference between the budget and expenses for each row.
View by Goal
When viewing the Manage page by Goal, the experience is quite similar to viewing it by Segment. However, there is one crucial distinction, Goals do not have their own designated budget. Instead, the budget of a Goal is determined by adding up the budgets of the campaigns and expense groups associated with that particular Goal.
Likewise, the expenses displayed for a Goal are calculated by summing up all the expenses incurred within the campaigns and expense groups that are linked to that Goal.
View by Campaign
Viewing the Manage page by Campaign is beneficial when you want to obtain a comprehensive list of all your marketing activities along with their respective budgets and expenditures.
Similar to segments, campaigns can be expanded to reveal the complete hierarchy of child campaigns and expense groups nested within a campaign. This allows for a more detailed and organized view of the various subcategories within a campaign.
Each campaign has a single budget assigned to it, which is determined when the campaign is created or updated. However, similar to the Segment View, you have the ability to edit the budget for any campaign directly on the Manage page by clicking on the respective cell.
There are certain limitations when it comes to increasing the budget of a campaign. If you attempt to raise the budget of a child campaign beyond the available budget of its parent campaign, a prompt will appear. This prompt will give you the option to either automatically increase the budget of the parent campaign to accommodate the desired increase in the child campaign's budget, or to cancel the original budget increase altogether. This ensures that the budget allocations remain consistent and aligned within the campaign hierarchy.
Performance Column
Performance Mode is a feature that you can access on the Manage Page. It works when you group your budget by goal or campaign and assign at least one key metric to a campaign.
With Performance, you can see a breakdown of projected ROI for each campaign and goal that has a key metric and a cost per outcome assigned to that metric. This allows you to assess the performance of your campaigns and goals in terms of expected return on investment.
The table updates in real time and is responsive to any filters you apply. This enables you to see the performance of your campaigns and goals in more detail, making it easier to make informed decisions on how to allocate your budget and adjust your strategies to maximize ROI.
