Basic Navigation Tips
From the user/profile menu, choose Help Resources → Training for additional learning material.
Use Online Help (OLH) and Community for further reference.
Creating a Chart in Dashboards
Purpose: How to create charts and visualize data in different chart types: line, bar, pie, doughnut, bubble, and gauge.
Go to Dashboards and select Add to create a new dashboard.
Enter a title.
In the right pane (Objects tab), drag and drop a chart type onto the gray canvas.
On the chart, enter a title and subtitle.
To retain member selections as you move between dashboards, add dimension members to Chart Filter.
Note: There’s no limit to how many dimension members you can select for chart filters.
(Optional) Enter Axis names.
Select Add on each axis to choose dimension members.
Note: A maximum of two dimensions per axis (rows and columns) for charts.
From Options, choose the hierarchy level to display.
Click the checkmark to preview and confirm selections.
Tip: Use the bottom‑right resize handle to resize the chart.
Select Save.
Other Features in Dashboards
Add a Text Box
Allows alphanumeric text with formatting.
In Dashboards, open the desired dashboard and select More → Edit.
From Objects, drag and drop the Text object onto the canvas.
Enter text in Text Area.
Resize using the bottom‑right handle.
In Settings, format style and alignment as desired.
Select Save.
Add a Dashboard Filter
Lets you view different dimension combinations from a single dashboard (reduces need for multiple dashboards).
Open the dashboard and select More → Edit.
From Objects, drag and drop the Filter object.
Select Add and choose the desired dimension members.
Resize using the bottom‑right handle.
Select Save.
Add a Table
Displays financial data in columns.
Open the dashboard and select More → Edit.
From Objects, drag and drop the Table.
(Optional) Add title and subtitle.
On each axis, select Add to choose the desired dimension members.
Note: Up to two dimension members per axis.
Use Settings to format as needed (e.g., reporting area, number format).
Click the checkmark to preview and confirm.
Tip: Use the bottom‑right resize handle to resize.
Select Save.
Using the “More” Option in Dashboards
Delete a Dashboard
Select More → Delete.
Confirm by selecting DELETE.
Effect: Removes the dashboard and all associated charts/elements.
Duplicate a Dashboard
Select More → Duplicate.
A confirmation message appears at the bottom‑right of the app (p.10).
Sharing a Dashboard
Owners can share with users/user groups and assign Full Control, Can Edit, or Can View.
Select More → Share.
In Share Selected, enter users or user groups.
Set each recipient’s access level.
Select Share.
Exporting a Dashboard
Export formats: PDF, PNG, JPEG/JPG.
Select More → Export.
In Export Selected, choose the desired file type.
Select Export.
Note: Zoom the exported file for better visibility.
Uploading a Thumbnail to a Dashboard
Lets you customize the dashboard tile thumbnail.
From the Organize interface, select More → Upload Thumbnail.
Note: Edit and Remove Thumbnail appear only if a thumbnail already exists (p.13).
In Upload Thumbnail Image, either drag and drop or browse to add an image.
Supported formats: JPEG/JPG/PNG, < 1 MB (p.13).

Using Substitution Variables in Dashboards
Use substitution variables to dynamically manage a chart’s axis selection.
Open the dashboard and select More → Edit.
On the chart, select the pencil icon to edit.
On the target axis, clear the current selection (x) and select Add.
Go to Time → Variables and add the desired substitution variable (e.g., variables listed in the p.15 screenshot such as @CURMTH@).
From Options, choose the hierarchy level to display.
Click the checkmark to preview/confirm.
Tip: Use the bottom‑right resize handle to resize.
Select Save.
Using Custom Members in Dashboards
Custom members (defined by an admin) can be used in chart design.
Open the dashboard and select More → Edit.
On the chart, select the pencil icon to edit.
Clear the current selection (x) on an axis and select Add.
Select the dimension that has a custom member, then open Custom Members and choose the member.
Note: The Custom Members tab lists available custom members configured at Maintenance → Reports → Cube Setting (p.16).
From Options, choose the hierarchy level.
Click the checkmark to preview/confirm.
Tip: Use the bottom‑right resize handle to resize.
Select Save.
