Dynamic Planning: Introduced Comments Feature for Cascade Report
With this latest release, users can now add and save comments to cascade reports, significantly enhancing the interactivity and usability of the reporting experience. Previously, users were unable to add comments to cascade reports, which made it difficult to maintain a coherent workflow and track important notes or observations.
Now, with this enhancement, users can not only add comments, but those comments will also remain intact even when the cascade report is refreshed or when switching between Design and Run modes. This ensures that users can preserve their insights and context throughout the reporting process.
To illustrate the benefit, consider Sarah, a financial analyst who previously struggled to add comments when reviewing quarterly sales performance in a cascade report. This limitation often led to valuable insights being lost.
With the new comments feature, Sarah can now add notes like “Review Q2’s marketing strategy” or “Analyze the sales dip in region X.” These comments will remain visible, no matter if the report is refreshed or switched between Design and Run modes. This enhancement streamlines her workflow, helping her easily track her thoughts and share insights with her team. Ultimately, it boosts both her productivity and the effectiveness of her reporting.

With this release, the new Asset Description column in the Capital Budget Analysis report retrieves both the Asset Name and Asset Code, as defined on the Asset page. If users update the Asset Code or Name in Input mode within the Planning Control Panel, those details are reflected in the Asset Description column. This enhancement ensures that changes made to asset details in Input mode are accurately tracked while running the Capital Budget Analysis report.
If a destination account is mapped in Finance Mode > Setup, the Asset Description column will display the Line code and Line Name as defined on the Setup page.
- To view the enhanced report with the new column, you must redeploy the Capital Budget Analysis standard report. For more information, see Deploy Standard Reports.
- The new column details are also available in the exported file.
For example, consider the following assets defined in the asset list:
- Asset Code: PC1001
- Asset Name: Dell Inspiron Laptop
In the generated report, the Asset Description column will display:
- PC1001 - Dell Inspiron Laptop
If you need to update the asset name information - such as Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop - you can do so in Input mode within the Planning Control Panel.
After this update, the Asset Description column will reflect the new details in the report.
- PC1001 - Dell Inspiron 15 Laptop
