Article summary

In the following example, a new report is created based off of a current Plan vs Actual report.

  1. Select the Report task and the Run subtask.
  2. Select Plan vs Actual from the Report list box.
  3. Select the Design subtask.
  4. Edit the report as needed using Excel functionality. In the example below, the color of the spreadsheet cells have been changed to pink versus blue and the font for Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 is larger.

  5. Click Properties to display POV (point of view) selections as well as groups that have access to the report.
  6. On the Properties page, select a model to save the report to in the Save on Model field. While you can display data from multiple models on a single report, if you would like to make changes and save them back to a model, only one model can be selected.
  7. Created On, Created By, Modified On and Modified By fields are system-populated based upon the user who creates or modifies the report and the date the user creates or modifies the report.
  8. In the Group cell, select a user group or several user groups to provide access to the report. The default is no user groups, which means that if you don't provide a user group, only you will have access. You may only assign group access for those groups which you are a member and have access to the model.
  9. Select POV to define a dimension to control the data displayed in a report. Point of View (POV) is a user-specific method of modifying settings to desired dimension members. In this example, Company is the dimension placed on the POV and data is filtered based upon the Company selected. POVs apply to all objects in the report.
  10. For Filter, select a dimension member based upon the POV dimension selected. In the example, data from the company called DecisionWorks is filtered to display in the report. DecisionWorks will be the initial selection but all members of the Company dimension will be displayed.
  11. Click Save. You will remain in the Design mode. If you would like to run the report, select Run from the subtask selection.
