Enhancements to Application Behavior
Dashboards
The Bridge waterfall chart will display the endpoint starting from 0 (X-axis) instead of the preceding value.
Reports: Automatic Data Refresh Enabled for Actual Data Templates (PREVIEW)
This opt-in feature is being released for PREVIEW only! It will be available to be enabled in the Sandbox environment.
With this release, Automatic Data Refresh is now triggered whenever you update data in Actual Data Templates.
Dashboards: Dynamic Planning Dimensions Now Supported in Global Filters
With this release, the Dynamic Planning dimensions are available as global filters in Dashboards. You can now use the Dynamic Planning dimensions as filters across the applicable charts. Every model contains a different set of dimensions, so all the dimensions under respective models are available under global filters. Additionally, Substitution variables are also available.
When you add a dimension, the different models are available in the drop-down list, as shown in the image.
You can select the required dimensions from the Pick list to filter the applicable charts as displayed in the image.
Prior to this release, dimensions of the Financial, Scorecard, and Workforce Reporting Areas were available as global filters.
All members selected from Member selector are displayed in the Pick list. You can select the required member as a global filter. The last selected filter from the Pick list is retained when you log in the next time.
The Dynamic Planning global filters are retained when you Refresh, Save, Duplicate, Share, or Export a Dashboard. The Code and Label display applies to the Dynamic Planning dimensions as well.
Best Practice
We recommend you to create a Dashboard for a single Reporting area or model to view accurate results using global filters.
Ability to Select Multiple Members Under a Dynamic Planning Dimension
Now, you have the ability to select multiple members of a dimension on a Chart filter in the Model Reporting area. You can select multiple members from the member selector. Additionally, you can filter members using the Pick list drop-down list.
Consolidation: Update to Flow Dimension Functionality
When loading data to Planful or performing data input, you select a Reporting dimension member also known as a Currency member. With this release, if you have Flow Dimension functionality enabled, data will need to be posted in Local Currency against the Reporting member. To better explain, see the topics below on how the system behaves when Flow Dimension functionality is enabled versus when it is not.
Functionality When Flow Dimension IS NOT Enabled
If Flow Dimension functionality IS NOT enabled, Planful allows you to load data directly to the Common Currency member and prevents the system from performing currency conversion. When users choose the Local Currency Reporting member for a company with a Local Currency code equal to Common Currency (for example, the Local Currency code selected is USD, which is also the Common Currency for your application), data is posted against the Reporting dimension members under Consolidated (CC). For example, you load data using a Data Load Rule and it is posted against the GL Data (CC) member. Post data using a Standard Journal and that data is posted against the Adjustments (CC) member.
Functionality When Flow Dimension IS Enabled
Using the same scenario as above, when Flow Dimension functionality is enabled, data is posted against the appropriate LC members. For example; data is posted to GL Data(LC) when uploaded via Data Load Rules. And, Standard Journals data is posted against the Adjustments(LC) member.
In a Flow Dimension enabled application, the balanced books in local currency will be used to convert to Common, Interim and Reporting Currency using similar logic. Currency Exceptions can be applied for any of these currencies. Any direct posting to Common Currency will not be converted to Interim and Reporting currencies.
