Simulation Engine

Simulation processing is an automated method for preserving templates. This process recalculates and stores template data in response to changes in reference data or other global drivers.

Access the Simulation Engine Process List page by navigating to Maintenance > Rules > Simulation Engine.
The Simulation Engine feature includes a Process List where you can take actions like adding, editing, deleting, or setting up the process template.
You can access the Simulation Engine Process List page by navigating to Maintenance > Rules > Simulation Engine. All current processes are displayed by scenario. Select the scenario for which you want to process templates and click Add to create a new Process List.

You can edit a process to make necessary changes by clicking the edit icon.
- Navigate to Maintenance > Rules > Simulation Engine.
- Select the required scenario from the Scenario drop-down list.
- Select a process and click the Edit icon.
- Make the required changes in the fields and click the Save icon.
You can delete a process by clicking the delete icon.
- Navigate to Maintenance > Rules > Simulation Engine.
- Select the required scenario from the Scenario drop-down list.
- Select a process and click the Delete icon.
- Click Delete.
You can access the Simulation Engine Process List page by navigating to Maintenance > Rules > Simulation Engine. Once the process is created, you must add template entity combinations you want to be processed. Select the scenario and a process, and click Setup.

You can apply filters to refine the process list based on Process Code, Process Name, Planning Area, Created Date, Created By, Modified By, or Modified Date.

Process Actions
Process Log is available for Processes run locally. To view the Process Log of a process, follow the below steps:
- Navigate to Maintenance > Rules > Simulation Engine.
- Click More icon and select Process Log.
- The Process Log List has three tabs:
- Detail View
- Select Criteria
- Filter
Detail View
Select Detail View to see details of a process log.
Select Criteria
Click Select Criteria to View or Clear Logs for a specific timeframe.
Filter
Click Filter icon to filter out Process Log List by Log Label, Processes Date or Processed User.
Output
You can Print the Simulation Process List, change print settings through Print Setup, or Export as Excel to view the output.
Other Actions
You can view Template Entity combinations to process from Entity Report.
You can save time by creating all processes for the default scenario and then mapping them to other scenarios with the help of Copy from Default Scenario. Read more on Copying Simulation Engine Processes From the Default Scenario to Other Scenarios here.
We recommend using Cloud Scheduler to run all Simulation Engine processes. Scheduling the process to run via the Simulation Engine page may result in the jobs not running in order due to server availability. Read more on how to schedule a Simulation Engine process via Cloud Scheduler here.
You can process template entity combinations via the Process option.
- Navigate to Maintenance > Rules > Simulation Engine.
- Select the required scenario from the Scenario drop-down list.
- Select the required process.
- Click Process to process all template entity combinations.
