ESM Canvas Formatting Options: Design Screen

Grid Actions

Grid Action helps you to reset the width of the columns.

Formatting

The formatting option has the following sub-options:

  • Font: Allows you to choose a specific typeface for the text.
  • Font Size: Adjusts the size of the text.
  • Foreground Colour: Changes the color of the text.
  • Background Colour: Modifies the background color of cells or text.
  • Bold: Applies bold formatting to the selected text.
  • Italic: Italicizes the selected text.
  • Underline: Adds a single underline to the selected text.
  • Double Underline: This applies a double underline to the selected text.
  • Number Formatting: Format numerical values according to your preference.
  • Thousands Separator: Adds a separator to large numbers for better readability.
  • Clear Formatting: Removes any applied formatting and reverts to the default style.

In Practice: Text formatting

  1. Select the Font type and Font size from the available dropdown lists.
  2. Select the required Foreground and Background colors from the dropdown lists.
  3. Use the respective icons to apply formatting options as needed:
    1. Click the Bold icon to make the text bold.
    2. Click the Italic icon to italicize the text.
    3. Click the Underline icon to add a single underline.
    4. Click the Double Underline icon to add a double underline.

In Practice: Numeric formatting

  1. The following Numericare available: 
    1. Decimal Places: Select the required number of zeros after the decimal point to be displayed in the numeric column.
    2. Show Zero As: Select how you want to display zero. Options include:
      1. Dash
      2. Zero
      3. Empty
    3. Number Formatter: Select the required option from the dropdown list:
      1. Number
      2. Currency
        Note:
        Only the local currency will be available.
    4. Accounting
    5. Percentage
    6. Negative Number For: Select how negative numbers should be displayed using options from the dropdown list.

Lock/Unlock

The Lock/Unlock option enables you to lock or unlock the selected column, restricting or allowing end users from making data entries in that specific column, respectively.
