History Mapping Limitations

The enhanced template setup has a threshold limit of 100,000 mapping combinations for leaf-level and rollup-level selections in Reference Account, History Mappings, or both This limit is in place to ensure optimal performance.. Users can select rollup/leaf-level member combinations up to the specified threshold.

Notes:

• Reference Account / History Mappings threshold applies only to GTSC, GTEC, and Allocation Templates in the enhanced Template Mapping feature.

• These threshold limit does not apply to Capital, Initiative, Block, and Line Item templates.

• Limits can be adjusted based on requirements. Contact support to explore available options.

Mapping Threshold: Applicable Areas

If the number of mapping combinations exceeds the 100,000 threshold, users cannot save them. Users should structure their mappings efficiently to stay within this limit. Users receive notifications when mapping combinations exceed the threshold in the following cases:

1. Reference Account Mapping - Rollup/leaf-level selection combinations exceed the limit in the All Lines section

2. History Mapping - Rollup/leaf-level selection combinations exceed the limit in the All Lines section

3. Saving a template in Template Setup mode - History, Reference Account Mapping, or the combined total of both exceeds the limit.

4. Impact of Hierarchy changes - When creating or editing a template, rollups/leaf-level combinations may remain within the threshold at the time of saving. However, adding new dimension members under Hierarchy Management may affect your template’s threshold limit and affect the following areas:

   1. Template Setup: While opening a template, users will be notified to reduce the selection to save the template

   2. Planning Control Panel: Users cannot open the Template in Input/View mode. To access the template, reduce rollup/leaf level selections for History or Reference Account Mappings in the Template Setup mode.

Resolving Threshold Exceeded Limits

To resolve the threshold exceeded limits, follow the steps below:

1. Click the Download Report to view row details, total mapping combinations in each row, and recommendations.

   Notes:

   • If History Mapping combinations exceed the threshold, the report will include History Mapping details.

   • If Reference Account Mapping combinations exceed the threshold, the report will show History Mapping details.

   • If both exceed the threshold, the report will have two tabs with the respective information.

2. Review the downloaded report and simplify the rollup selections by selecting specific leaf-level members.

3. Click the Save icon to save the template.

Best Practices for Reference Account / History Mappings

• Avoid selecting large rollups for multiple dimensions simultaneously. Adjust the rollup selections to lower the total combinations

• Use drop-down filters to include only the relevant members from the hierarchy

• Changes in dimension hierarchies might increase the threshold limit
