Variables assigned within Views and Reports automate processes during calculations, improving efficiency by eliminating the need for manual adjustments based on predefined parameters or conditions.
To assign variables to views:
- In SpotlightXL, go to Analyze > Design View.
- Click Properties.
- Enter Variable Name and select the associated dimension.
- Click Save.
- Enter a new name for the view. The variable will be added.
Notes:
- Ensure that the variable is defined in your model's formulas or calculations.
- Use the same variable consistently throughout your calculation process.
- For Reports, navigate to Design > Properties to add variables.
