Article summary

To share a template with a Budget Manager, they must have access to the Budget Manager Experience (BME). BME access can be granted to users based on their roles and responsibilities. To grant a user with BME access, follow the steps mentioned in the Add User article.

There are three ways to grant a user access to BME using the Support Role on the Add User page:

Administrator: By default, users with the Administrator role can access both BME and the Full Experience. This allows administrators to preview the Budget Manager Experience.

User > Access to Budget Manager Experience: Selecting User as the support role allows the user to enable the Access to Budget Manager Experience checkbox. By enabling this checkbox, the user can access both the Full Experience and the Budget Manager Experience (BME). This feature is useful for users who need access to both experiences and Budget Managers who also want to utilize the capabilities available in the Full Experience.

Budget Manager: Selecting the Budget Manager role only gives the user access to BME. This support role can be assigned when the user only manages the budget.

Before sharing any template, ensure the Budget Manager has access to the following:

  • Scenario
  • Budget entity approval role
  • Template

Once they have all the required permissions, finance users can share templates with Budget Managers. For more information, refer to the Sharing Templates with Budget Manager topic.
