Article summary

Dynamic Planning is an advanced multi-dimensional engine and analysis tool for operational planning and comprehensive analysis. It features web and Microsoft Excel interfaces, enabling rapid ad hoc querying, self-service data access within and beyond finance, formatted reporting, and more. You can access Planful and other datasets by logging in and specifying environment details within the Dynamic Planning interface. Once connected, you can utilize all data stored in the Planful Financial Cube to work with existing models, performing tasks such as:

  • Creating sub-models (also known as Analytic models).
  • Generate flexible custom reports and charts for distribution.
  • Perform analysis using your Planful data as a foundation.

Dynamic Planning allows you to add, remove, or modify models and sub-models as needed to analyze the required data. It provides Web, Microsoft Excel, and Google Sheets user interfaces:

  • Spotlight, the Web front-end, offers Analyze, Report, and Model Manager functionality.
  • SpotlightXL, the Excel front-end, provides functionality for all Dynamic Planning capabilities, including Analyze, Report, Excel Report, Model, and Manage.
