Follow these step-by-step instructions to add a task:
- Click Task Manager in the left navigation pane. The Task Manager page opens.
- Click the Add Task button, and the Add Task pane will appear on the right side of the screen.
- Enter the title of the task in the Untitled Task field.
- Select the start and due dates for the task.
- By default, the Timezone is set to your local time. You can change it if required, and the overdue status will be tracked based on the selected timezone.
- Set the priority for your task. The available options are Low, Medium, and High.
- Click the + button to assign the task to other users. The Map Users window will appear on your screen. Search for the users you want to assign and close the window.Note:You can assign the task only if you have permission. Otherwise, you will be the only user (added by default) in the assignee's category.
- In the Task Location field, you have two options:
- Planful: Use this option to assign tasks within the Planful application.
- Click the Browse option to search and explore through the menu and assign the task. The Link field (non-editable) beside the Browse option shows your selection. If you wish to remove the link, click the x button, and you can then select a new task.

- Insert Link: This option allows you to link a task to your own application or any other external application.
- Click the Insert Link option, and the External Link window appears. Copy and paste the link into the Web Address field.
- The Text to Display field shows the same URL path. You can edit this field with a choice of text that you want to display.
- Once you add the required information, click Add. The task name will appear in the Link field (non-editable) right beside the Insert Link option, displaying the link you have entered in the Text to Display field.
- Planful: Use this option to assign tasks within the Planful application.
- Add any notes or instructions in the Notes field.
- Click the Add Attachment button to attach documents, if you have any.
- Finally, click Save. You've successfully added a task and assigned it to the users.
The assignees will be notified via email. Refer to Email Notifications for Task Manager for more information on these notifications.
