There are two ways to input data using the Direct Data Input compensation item type:
Using Method 1: Manual Input Employees
- Navigate to Structured Planning to open the Planning Control Panel.
- Select the Scenario, Budget Entity, and the HR - Workforce Planning template and open in the Input mode.
- Select an employee by clicking on the Employee Number link.
- Go to the I/P Comp Item tab. For each employee, manually enter the necessary values.
Examples:- Ex-pat packages
- Executive bonuses for a small executive team
- Birthday month bonuses/gifts
Using Method 2: Data Load for Multiple Employees
This is ideal for cases where the items are calculated outside of Planful. If you have a number of employees that you need direct data input for, you can do a data load instead of loading directly into the template. Use the Workforce Planning - Employee Compensation Items Data Load Rule.
Examples:
- Stock options or restricted stock compensation
- Executive bonuses for a large team
- Sales commissions
- 401K costs
