How to Input Data Using the Direct Data Input Compensation Item?

There are two ways to input data using the Direct Data Input compensation item type:

Using Method 1: Manual Input Employees 

  1. Navigate to Structured Planning to open the Planning Control Panel.
  2. Select the Scenario, Budget Entity, and the HR - Workforce Planning template and open in the Input mode.
  3. Select an employee by clicking on the Employee Number link. 
  4. Go to the I/P Comp Item tab. For each employee, manually enter the necessary values.
    Examples
    1. Ex-pat packages
    2. Executive bonuses for a small executive team
    3. Birthday month bonuses/gifts

Using Method 2: Data Load for Multiple Employees

This is ideal for cases where the items are calculated outside of Planful. If you have a number of employees that you need direct data input for, you can do a data load instead of loading directly into the template. Use the Workforce Planning - Employee Compensation Items Data Load Rule.

Examples:

  1. Stock options or restricted stock compensation
  2. Executive bonuses for a large team
  3. Sales commissions
  4. 401K costs
