With this release, only users with the Edit Subline Summary Line checkbox enabled can edit the cells in summary lines in Subline templates. This feature allows administrators to control who can edit the summary lines in Subline templates, preventing users from accidentally overwriting or deleting formulas. This helps save time and effort when reviewing the formulas.

In Practice: Accessing the Edit Subline Summary Line option:

  1. Log in to the Planful application and click Maintenance > Administration > User and Role Management.
  2. From the User list, search for the desired user to provide permission to edit the summary cells and click the security icon next to them.
    Edit Summary Line - 1
  3. Click Approval Role Setup from the menu.
    Edit Summary Line - 2
  4. The Approval Role Setup page displays with the Edit Subline Summary Line checkbox enabled.
    Edit Summary Line - 3
    Note:
By default, the Edit Subline Summary Line checkbox is enabled for all users.

  5. Disable the Edit Subline Summary Line checkbox to lock the summary lines from editing.
    Note:
Users without this permission will see these cells as locked or read-only.

With this release, we have introduced a new option that allows you to set a default homepage after logging in to the Planful application.

Previously, you could set your homepage under the User Settings section of the General tab. This is accessible from the Manage Your Account option in the user profile menu in the top-right corner of the application, or from Maintenance > My Settings. If you have already set a homepage, you will continue to see your selected homepage upon login.

For new users or those who do not have set a homepage, a new option called Change Start Page is now visible. Clicking this opens a dialog where you can choose a preferred start page. The dialog includes Popular Pages and All Pages, with the All Pages section with a search option to search for the required page.

Notes:
  • The availability of pages in Popular Pages and All Pages is based on your navigation role and permissions. For example, if you do not have access to Task Manager, it will not appear in your Popular Pages or All Pages.
  • Also, if no popular pages are available, then All Pages with the full navigation tree will be displayed.

In practice: How to Set Your Default Homepage?

To set a default Homepage, do the following:

  1. Log in to Planful. If you haven’t set up a homepage yet, the Change Start Page option will appear.
  2. Click on the Change Start Page to open the selection dialog.

  3. In the Select Start Page dialog, select your preferred homepage:
    1. Select from Popular Pages for quick access to commonly used pages.

    2. Use All Pages with the search feature to find specific pages.

  4. Click Save to confirm your selection. Your selected page will now be your default homepage on login.

To update your homepage later, go to User Settings > General Tab under Manage Your Account in the user profile menu, or navigate to Maintenance > My Settings.

Platform: Updated Top Toolbar

With this release, you can see the following changes to the Top Toolbar: The Get Help option has been renamed to Help, and its position, along with the positions of the Announcements and Global Search icons has been updated. All features continue to function as before.

Predict: Introduced Chart Only Toggle Option in Signal Context

With this release, we have enhanced the Signal Context window by introducing the Chart Only toggle option to toggle between the graph and grid views. The Signal Context window displays both the grid and graph simultaneously, resulting in limited space and overlapping information. Now, by enabling the Chart Only toggle, the user can view the entire graph and avoid these issues.
