Build and Run a Dynamic Report

To create a Dynamic Report, perform the steps below:

  1. Navigate to Reports from the Planful application home page.
  2. Click the Add icon and select Dynamic Report.

  3. Select a Reporting Area. This represents the multidimensional cube upon which the report will be built.

  4. Drag and drop dimensions for Page, Row, and Column axes to complete the structure or design of your report. 
  5. Alternatively, use Report Sets on row and column axes.

  6. Use the Members pane to map dimension members and lock desired dimensions—Double-click on a dimension to access its available Members options. 
  7. Select Members.

  8. For Report Sets, use the Members pane to select and Lock properties.

  9. Click Show Header & Footer.

  10. Drag and drop variables to the Header and  Footer fields.
  11. Select options (style, color, format) to display header and footer details on your Dynamic Report.

  12. Click the Run icon to preview the report.

  13. Manipulate report output by suppressing empty columns or rows, performing pivots, selecting report ranking details, and enabling Drill Through capabilities.
    Note:
    Enable functions to create calculations with assistance instead of manually entering them in the formula bar. Click Formula Exception to modify the formula.

  14. Click the Save icon.

Planful will automatically reprocess a Dynamic Report in a Report Collection or Financial Package Publisher if it fails due to concurrent processes running or OLAP connectivity issues. The maximum number of retries allowed is 3. 

The Reload option reduces the chances of getting errors (listed above). However, because these reports are re-executed up to 3 times, the overall execution time is increased when errors are encountered.
