Making an Attribute Available for Dynamic Reporting

Complete the following steps to add an attribute and make it available for Dynamic Reporting:

  1. Navigate to Maintenance > Hierarchy > Hierarchy Management.

  1. Select the dimension and the hierarchy and click Setup. In this case, Account is selected. The Finance Hierarchies Setup page is displayed.

  1. Select a hierarchy and click More > Attribute Setup. The Finance Attributes page is displayed.

  1. Select a dimension from the Dimension list-box to create the attribute on the selected dimension (for example, Account).

  1. Click the Add button to display the Add Attribute page. Enter the name, description, and select an attribute type. Click Save.

  1. Navigate to Maintenance > Reports > Cube Settings, and ensure the Attribute Settings tab is selected.

  1. Select the attribute in the hierarchy (organized by dimension) and click Add Selected. You have just mapped the attribute to the dimension.

  1. Under type select Basic or Property. Select Basic as selecting Property does not allow you to select the Include Rollup Members checkbox. When you select the Include Rollup Members checkbox, it includes leaf level members with the mapped attribute and allows you to drill down.

  1. Click Save.

  1. Navigate to Maintenance > Hierarchy > Hierarchy Management.

  1. Click Setup and select the hierarchy.

  1. Click More and select Attribute Setup. EnsureUsed in Reporting is set to Yes.

  1. Navigate to Reports and add a Dynamic Report.

  1. Under the Account dimension, the attributes are listed and available for selection.

  1. Drag the attribute to the report axis. Complete the report and run.
