Reports: Enhancements to Comments Manager

Date Drop-Down List in Selection Criteria

Now, a Date drop-down list has been added to the Selection Criteria pane of the Comments Manager page to view comments for a specific period.

Business Value

The drop-down list provides the flexibility to select predefined options, such as Today, Last 7 days, Last 30 days, and Custom to quickly view the data on-the-go. It significantly reduces the time consumed previously to view the same data. The Custom option is available in the drop-down list that allows you to view data for a specific period, which improves usability and provides an effortless user experience.

Prior to this release, you did not have any option to view data on-the-go. You had to set the To and From date to view data for a specific period.

The following options are available in the Date drop-down list:

  • Today - Displays all comments posted on the current date.

  • Last 7 days - Displays all comments posted in the last 7 days.

  • Last 30 days - Displays all comments posted in the last 30 days. This is the default option.

  • Custom - Displays all comments posted on the selected date range as displayed in the image below.

The Selection Criteria pane retains your selection when you navigate away from the Comments Manager page or sign out of the application.

In Practice: Access the Date Drop-Down List

Go to Maintenance > Admin > Comments Manager > click Selection Criteria > Date field.

Changed Position of Columns in Comments Manager

The position of the following columns has been changed on the Comments Manager page to improve user experience and display the information with better visibility:

  • User Name

  • Created Date

  • Comments

Now, these columns have been positioned in such a way that you can view the important information as soon as you open the grid.

Prior to this release, you had to scroll to the right of the page to view these columns.

The image below displays the position of the User Name, Created Date, and Comments columns on the Comments Manager page.

Column Width is Now Retained

With this release, the adjustments made to the column width on the Comments Manager page is retained when you navigate to another page or login to the application the next time.

Prior to this release, the adjustments made to the column width were not retained and you had to change the width every time you opened the Comments Manager page.

The column width is retained when you perform various actions, such as Highlight, Delete, and so on.

Filters Now Retained in Comments Manager

With this release, the Comments Manager page has been enhanced to retain filters on the grid. This functionality improves the overall experience and reduces the number of clicks while applying filters on the grid.

Previously, the filters applied on the grid were not retained when you performed any grid actions, such as Highlight, Delete, and so on.

If you apply a filter on the grid and then update the Selection Criteria pane, the filter value is displayed as All.

Note:
Filters applied on the grid are not retained when you navigate away from the Comments Manager page.

Ability to Access Both Model and Model Name from One Drop-Down List in Selection Criteria

Now, you have the ability to select both model and model name from the Model drop-down list. This functionality provides the flexibility to select the required options on-the-go at one place; thereby eliminating additional clicks and saving time.

Prior to this release, you had to select the Reporting Area from the Model drop-down list and the model name from the Model Name drop-down list.

With this release, the Model Name drop-down list has been removed from the Selection Criteria pane.

The list of Model Names is visible under the Operational Reporting Area as displayed in the image below.
