Access the Planful Connector:
Prerequisites
You must have a Microsoft Power Automate account to access the Planful connector and the DLR you want to use to load the data through Power Automate.
Planful connector is now available in Microsoft Power Automate through which you can load the data into Planful.
- Log in to your Microsoft Power Automate account.
- Click Connectors in the side menu and search for Planful in the search bar.
- Click the Planful connector and refer to the See Documentation link to know the dependencies and requirements to use the connector, like How to Authenticate, Supported regions, or any limitations.
Create a new Planful Connection
Do the following to create a new connection from your Power Automate account to your Planful application:
- Click Connections > + New Connection. If you do not find the Connections option, click More in the left pane menu and search for Connections. You can pin the same to the left pane menu.
- Search for the Planful connector in the search bar.
- Click on the Microsoft-certified Planful connector and provide the Access ID, Access Key, and the URL of your Planful application.Note:You can generate the Access ID and Key from your Planful application. To know more, click here.
- Click Create to establish a connection between Power Automate and Planful.
You have to create a Flow to load the required data through Power Automate into your Planful application. Refer to the Flow Documentation in Power Automate to create a Flow.
Once you create a Flow, Turn On the Flow, and Power Automate will load the data into Planful automatically whenever the flow trigger criteria are met.
Use Case
Here is a scenario where the data is loaded into Planful through a Power Automate connector. After creating a successful connection with the Planful application, the Flow created in this use case has a OneDrive link that contains the data in a CSV file that we have to load into the Planful application.
- Create a new flow (for example, XYZ) from My Flows in Power Automate. While creating the new flow, authenticate the OneDrive account that you want to use as a source to upload the data and the Planful Connector.
Following are some important settings that were used to create the Flow:- The Flow triggers automatically when you add a new file in the OneDrive source folder mentioned in the Flow.
- Specify the following in the File Load section in their respective fields:
- Column Delimiter - Column delimiter value
- Data Load Rule Name - Name of the DLR from your Planful account that you want to use to load the data.
- The File - Select the File content option from the suggestions.
- The File (file name) - Select the File name option from the suggestions.
- The Flow triggers automatically when you add a new file in the OneDrive source folder mentioned in the Flow.
- Open the OneDrive account that was authenticated in the XYZ flow, and upload the CSV file that contains the data in the folder mentioned in the flow created in Power Automate.
- Click My Flows and open the XYZ flow. As you have just uploaded the CSV file, Power Automate triggers the flow automatically, and you should see the data upload status in the flow.Note:
Ensure the Flow is Turned On in Power Automate before uploading the CSV file in OneDrive.
- Once the upload is complete, you will receive the upload status in your email ID as specified in the XYZ Flow.
- You can verify the same in your Planful application > Notifications section and view the details of the data load from there.
