A year-to-date (YTD) capital expense report helps organizations monitor total capital spending against budget or forecast. It supports proactive financial management and aligns with reporting and compliance needs. Furthermore, it allows organizations to make better decisions and set accountability across departments.
To create a YTD capital expense report, do the following:
Navigate to Reports.
Click the New icon, and then select Dynamic Report.
Select the Financial Reporting Area, and then click OK.
Drag and drop the following to create the dynamic report structure:
Drag the Company, Scenario, and Time dimensions to the Page axis.
Drag a capital expense report set to the Row axis. To learn more about creating a report set, click here.
Drag the Measures dimension to the Column axis.
Click on each dimension and select members. In this example, a YTD capital expense report is created for Total Company at planned actuals for the year 2018.
(Optional) Click Show Header & Footer to customize the report header or footer with elements like report name, company, current date, or scenario.
Click Run to generate the YTD capital expense report.
Click Save to store the report in the File Cabinet for future use.
