Use Case 1

The template below is used to enter revenue by product. Some highlights regarding the design of this template are provided below.

• The following Excel calculations are used:

  • In line 20 the total revenue is calculated per month. So for column AQ, the calculation is =SUM(AQ21:AQ23).

  • In line 25 the total number of units for all products is calculated. So for column AQ, the calculation is =SUM(AQ26:AQ28).

• This template contains notes in the spreadsheet made by the Admin user during template design. These notes helps to instruct the input user. For example, the Admin writes (in line25) "Enter # Units Sold in Yellow Section Below".

• There are 2 compare scenarios, a target scenario for the current year and the actual data for prior year (2015) so that revenue and units sold can be compared to current year.

• For the Kids' Triathlon Road Bikes, for example, there is a spread applied. This Even spread will evenly spread units sold each month / period.

• The RA (reference account) lines references Marketing accounts, which lists the price of the bikes.

  

Use Case 2

This template is used to post budget data for % of travel increase month over month. It also provides yearly totals for line items; airfare, ground, hotel, and so on.
